Ms. Orisha Joseph – Executive Director and Conservation Advocate

Ms. Orisha Joseph is a dynamic and accomplished professional deeply committed to her role as the Executive Director of the SVG Conservation Trust Fund, where she tirelessly champions environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Her journey to this pivotal leadership position began in Grenada, her birthplace, where she embarked on her career in the private sector. Starting as an Accountants Receivable Clerk and Sales Inventory Supervisor at a local retail company, Ms. Joseph demonstrated her dedication and versatility, rapidly ascending through various departments.


Ms. Joseph’s foray into the world of media and communication commenced when she joined the Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN), the national TV station of the tri-island state. She initially served as a Junior Reporter and Computer Graphics Technician, but her undeniable talent and relentless drive propelled her to Senior Reporter and TV Anchor roles. Her tenure at GBN was marked by remarkable achievements, including national and regional awards for her outstanding work in public health and environmental reporting. Her contributions extended beyond the screen, as she assumed responsibilities for production and programming.


In 2012, Ms. Joseph took an unexpected but significant turn in her career, joining Sustainable Grenadines Inc (SusGren) as a Program Officer. Over the years, she demonstrated remarkable leadership and dedication, ultimately ascending to the role of Executive Director in 2018—a position she continues to hold today.


Her expertise spans media and communications, facilitation, project management, and monitoring and evaluation. Ms. Joseph is not only a formidable leader but also a certified open water PADI diver. Her dedication to environmental conservation is further evidenced by her co-authorship of numerous publications, including the groundbreaking work “IUCN Transboundary Conservation: A Systematic and Integrated Approach Case Study: The Grenadines Network of Marine Protected Areas; An Example of Civil Society Leadership.”

Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. Joseph finds solace and inspiration in the natural world. She is an avid diver, bird enthusiast, and passionate hiker. Her life philosophy can be summed up in her motto, “Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.”
